The Technical Support Cooperation to the School Education Sector (TECSES) project is a five-year initiative supported by the Governments of Finland and the European Union and implemented by HY+ in Nepal.
TTECSES aims to strengthen teacher education in Nepal and works for enhancing both pre-service and in-service teacher education. With its´ actions TECSES aims to strengthen the quality, equity and inclusion in school education. TECSES works in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST), provincial governments, local governments, and the universities.
TECSES operates at the federal level in Kathmandu and in three following provinces:
TECSES invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from qualified Nepalese individual consultants for inclusion in the Expert Roster. Interested parties are invited to submit their credentials for potential engagement in upcoming consultancy assignments across various specialized areas
Selected experts will be enlisted in a consultancy roster and may be engaged on need basis to undertake technical assignments including teacher education development, professional training, digital learning, curriculum design and review, and education sector planning.
The roster shall remain valid for the entire implementation period of the TECSES Project. Inclusion in the roster signifies that the expert has met the required qualifications and may be considered for future assignments; however, it does not constitute a commitment or guarantee of any consultancy engagement, minimum workload, or contractual assignment by the Project.
3. Scope of Consultancy ServicesScope of consultancy services are mentioned in the following consultancy categories. Assignments may take place in Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and Madhesh provinces, as well as at Kathmandu and close by areas.
Consultancy CategoriesThis consultancy supports the revision and upgrading of B.Ed or one-year B.Ed. curricula in Mid-West, Far-Western and Tribhuvan Universities and Teacher Education Diploma Curriculum Design of Madhesh University. The consultant reviews existing curricula and redesigns them to align with teacher competency frameworks and 21st-century teaching skills. Consultancy includes improvements in course structure, pedagogy, assessment, and accreditation, technical guidance to ensure modern, relevant and quality teacher education programs and collaboration with university committees and in facilitating workshops.
Minimum QualificationsApplicants may indicate preferred province and Subject Specialization.
3.2 Online Teaching, Learning and E-Pedagogy ExpertThe consultation provides support to CEHRD to develop a comprehensive self-based online learning course in inclusive education with a strong focus on e-learning pedagogy, targeted to teacher trainers, schoolteachers and other interested education stakeholders. The consultation includes the end-to-end design, development, production, and finalization of the learning course.
Minimum QualificationsThe consultation provides technical support to deliver in-service teacher training on inclusive education in Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and Madhesh Provinces. Consultation includes coordination and implementation of Training of Trainers (ToT) and practice-orientation training on inclusive education targeted to local governments and schools, and preparation of practical training materials and tools to support the implementation of inclusive education at the school level.
Minimum QualificationsThe consultation provides capacity building to Resource school teachers and administrators of Local Education Units on inclusive pedagogy to teach students with visual and hearing impairments. Consultation includes design of training curriculum and training plan, training implementation and development of teachers´ resource materials.
Minimum QualificationsThe consultation provides capacity building in pedagogical skills to Pedagogical Resource Persons (PRPs) in Madesh and Sudurpaschim provinces. The consultation includes the design of a five-day training program, and facilitation and implementation support of the program.
Minimum QualificationsThe consultation provides support to the establishment of Digital Teacher Training Centers at HRDC/PETC in Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and Madhesh Provinces, focusing on digital pedagogy and the digitalization of teacher training. Consultation includes assessment of and recommendation for ICT infrastructure and digitalized training practices in PETSs and local schools, design a digital pedagogy training package and resource materials, implementation of capacity-building training and support od PETCs in digital connections with local schools.
Minimum QualificationsThe consultation focuses on design and implementation of five-days trainings to basic and secondary school teachers with a focus on capacitating teachers in inclusive teaching and learning materials development. Trainings are implemented in Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and Madhesh provinces.
Minimum QualificationsThe consultation provides technical support to strengthen education planning at the local level in line with the Provincial Education Plan and the School Education Sector Plan (SESP). The consultant reviews the Provincial School Education Sector Plan and assesses local education plans developed in target municipalities in Karnali, Madhesh, and Sudurpashchim Provinces. The consultant also supports the preparation of local education plans with the municipalities lacking the local education plans and designs and conducts training workshops to build the capacity of local government officials, especially Local Education Unit Chiefs.
Minimum QualificationsInterested experts meeting above eligibility requirements are invited to submit a duly completed Application Form along with a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), clearly demonstrating their qualifications, technical expertise, and relevant professional experience in one or multiple consultancy categories specified above.
